❄️ Cold Weather Update:

❄️ Cold Weather Update: Saturday’s Tarpon Springs Fishing Trips will be Rescheduled

Safety First on the Water 🌊

While we love getting our lines wet year-round here in Tarpon Springs, Mother Nature sometimes makes the call for us. Due to unseasonably cold temperatures and weather conditions, all Saturday’s fishing charters out of Tarpon Springs are canceled for safety reasons.

Cold snaps like this don’t just affect comfort — they impact sea conditions, fish behavior, and overall safety on the water. When temperatures drop, fish become sluggish, winds pick up, and the Gulf can turn uncomfortable fast. Our priority is always providing a safe, enjoyable, and high-quality experience for every guest who steps aboard.

🐟 What Happens to Fish in Cold Water?

When water temperatures dip:

  • Fish metabolism slows way down

  • Bites become fewer and more finicky

  • Fish tend to hug structure and deeper water

  • Success requires ultra-slow techniques

While seasoned anglers can sometimes adapt, these conditions are not ideal for a charter experience, especially for families or first-timers.

Looking Ahead: Better Days Are Coming ☀️

The good news? Cold snaps in Tarpon Springs are usually short-lived. Once temperatures rebound:

  • Fish become active again

  • Bites pick back up

  • Conditions return to what we’re known for — comfortable, productive fishing trips

If your trip was affected, we’ll work with you to reschedule or rebook for a better weather window so you get the experience you deserve.

Thank You for Understanding 💙

We truly appreciate our guests trusting Anclote Charters to make the right call. Sometimes the best captains know when to stay at the dock — and when to strike hard once conditions line up.

👉 Keep an eye on the forecast and check back soon. Warmer water = tighter lines.
